Miracle on Pavement !
02.18.06 (6:09 pm) [edit]Hello out there in blog land, have you ever thought about some happening and it's outcome and figured you must have been dreaming or a miracle happened in front of your eyes ? I had one of these experiences the other night and will tell you how this happened.... . Anyway it was a very cold thursday in Oilsand land..nothing uncommon about that on 16th of February....but what transpired throughout the day became a bit unlogical but inspiring when you figure things all worked together to get me home in one unfrozen piece ! My little truck was at camp and being I was laid-off I had to drive home but I couldn't get much more than a click out of that froze machine, but by 7:55 pm I had got it running and was on my way south on highway 63. ( by the way did I tell you it was minus 28 deg C at the time. ) But really I wanted to stay the night and leave the next day - only luck....1/2 bad as it turned out eventually got me home at 2:00 in the mourning, My nerves were so reved-up I figured I would'nt sleep anyway. Half way Boyle the truck seemed to pick -up some frost or something and I geared down to climb a hill (did I tell you i have a 4 cylinder truck not a 426 hemi !) but when I geared down the truck decided to over-rev and I figured it could be trouble as it really reved-up. Latter on I noticed my oil pressure guage falling to nothing but only momentarily and then back to normal with no noticable change in power at all.. and thats how I drove for over a hour but then I figured I heard a ticking ( oh no what the hell to do) so at Lamont I checked under the hood---it was purring like a kitten . go figure . a lose wire right ? by now I'm about 25 minutes frome home and I really can hear some hammers under the hood now - nothing to do but drive, right ? ( the pressure is good but now it's off more than it's on ) but I drive -on to Leduc and park on the driveway shut-er down , put in one quart of oil and see if it'll start...it does but the hammers are still there- listen intently- where the hay did they go everything gets quite again and I think what????? no way but yes way the Pro-ma in my oil saved the day for me --- and when I checked the oil the next day---- YOur right only one quart in the crankcase left..... .the one I added ...it seems My filter blew a gasket and slobbered all my oil out and I drove home very little slider in the case. Today with a new oil change and filter (fresh oil and MBL 8 additive ) she still perrs like a kitten and I thank my lucky stars for believing - in a few good things like Miracles If even on Pavement!
