Miracle on Pavement !
02.18.06 (6:09 pm) [edit]Hello out there in blog land, have you ever thought about some happening and it's outcome and figured you must have been dreaming or a miracle happened in front of your eyes ? I had one of these experiences the other night and will tell you how this happened.... . Anyway it was a very cold thursday in Oilsand land..nothing uncommon about that on 16th of February....but what transpired throughout the day became a bit unlogical but inspiring when you figure things all worked together to get me home in one unfrozen piece ! My little truck was at camp and being I was laid-off I had to drive home but I couldn't get much more than a click out of that froze machine, but by 7:55 pm I had got it running and was on my way south on highway 63. ( by the way did I tell you it was minus 28 deg C at the time. ) But really I wanted to stay the night and leave the next day - only luck....1/2 bad as it turned out eventually got me home at 2:00 in the mourning, My nerves were so reved-up I figured I would'nt sleep anyway. Half way Boyle the truck seemed to pick -up some frost or something and I geared down to climb a hill (did I tell you i have a 4 cylinder truck not a 426 hemi !) but when I geared down the truck decided to over-rev and I figured it could be trouble as it really reved-up. Latter on I noticed my oil pressure guage falling to nothing but only momentarily and then back to normal with no noticable change in power at all.. and thats how I drove for over a hour but then I figured I heard a ticking ( oh no what the hell to do) so at Lamont I checked under the hood---it was purring like a kitten . go figure . a lose wire right ? by now I'm about 25 minutes frome home and I really can hear some hammers under the hood now - nothing to do but drive, right ? ( the pressure is good but now it's off more than it's on ) but I drive -on to Leduc and park on the driveway shut-er down , put in one quart of oil and see if it'll start...it does but the hammers are still there- listen intently- where the hay did they go everything gets quite again and I think what????? no way but yes way the Pro-ma in my oil saved the day for me --- and when I checked the oil the next day---- YOur right only one quart in the crankcase left..... .the one I added ...it seems My filter blew a gasket and slobbered all my oil out and I drove home very little slider in the case. Today with a new oil change and filter (fresh oil and MBL 8 additive ) she still perrs like a kitten and I thank my lucky stars for believing - in a few good things like Miracles If even on Pavement! It's been seven days shot this month already and I have procrastinated this blog for just too damn long .
Jessica has showed up for the weekend and we're just chill'n, not having that much pressing to do except visit, which is good, as she has been so busy this summer with moving and travelling to B.C.---lucky girl--LOL
Whats up with that ?? We went on our holiday for a week in when we went to Dean & Nancy's wedding on the same weekend in August.

Well our seems to have one.
The last few weeks our computer will just up and say" like this is taking to long" so- long boys.
Actually it does't say anything but it doesn't care as it's gone and you have to reboot.
If your in word it will save and then just shut-down...does this sound normal or what ???
I thing it's more of a nusicance than anything but its a perplexing disturbance --- so tell me what you think..

Some Weather This evening
09.03.05 (3:49 pm) [edit]We were getting a few things from the Superstore and on our way out of the place we noticed the rain-drops were about the size of quarters !!
That was the first hint of Something heading our way, as the sun was still shinning.
Soon the Clouds turned everything dark and by the time we got home the hail had started to fall .. luck being on our side this time the size of the hail stayed relatively small ( double pea size ) and nothing got more than dreanched from the downpour that lasted for another half-hour.
Kinda late for Stuff like this around here but nothing is normal
for our weather this year...Just glad we live where the flood waters can't get to.

08.27.05 (3:05 pm) [edit]I now own one of these small cousin to the I pod and it is very convenient
to take on the bus but I am finding it a bit of a streach to get the Mp3's
loaded on it and the others erased that don't want to listen to anymore.
Do they make one of these machines that you could put all of your mp3's on small memory
chips and carry a swack of diffrent tunes to enjoy ?
I suppose they do but I think I will just load all my mp3's on a cd and borrow Jeffreys player and he can use the i-river ..
Somethings are easyest to figure out when you talk about them, I guess thats whey we talk to ourselfs when we get older ... they say it's okay till you start answering yourself...ha ha

I'm back from sunny Ft Mac. where the oil is everywhere but none is cheap!
The price of oil could hit any all-time Hi's but us Oilsands workers
would never get to benifit from....
say a cheaper tank -= full...
Oh well- we make pretty good wages anyway.
I still think I need a smaller , more economical car.
Whats your favorite one.

Tonight the boys and I decieded to have some old-fadhioned
Bar- B Que Burgers for supper so I Mixed up the meat my special way
and made my special BBQ sauce to cover them with at just the right time, and boy did they turn out tasty....I had baked fresh buns...yeah sure ha ha
bought some buns to put it all together and found some cheddar cheese for Josh and we all enjoyed the feast.. Simple Joys for simple boys hay ?? :P
It must be the fresh air, but it was fun.

I've been away ( at the much talked about and unloved Tar-Sands of Alberta) mak'in bac'in for the AJ7( now down to(aj4) family. ha ha
It was such a streach, for three weeks - to get back in the grove, as being off was very well liked by myself and family alike.
I kept thinking I can do better than this and enjoy it more too but for the pressent I will have to take thier money and run -- hoping for a 649 magical moment !!!
